Only connect. (Howards End)

There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so. (Hamlet, 2.2.259)

e-lite, noun – the best, the choicest part. (OED)

I often start with the paradox,
'music is everything;
I don’t know what music is.'

I like to get in a room and work. With anyone. Music, theatre, movement, songs and stories are the materials. Improvising, devising, writing and performing are the tools.

I’ve devised and delivered bespoke and pioneering workshops and projects for ENO, Opera North, WNO, ETO, Philharmonia, LPO, Orchestra of the Swan, Theatre de Complicité, Barbican, South Bank Centre, Wigmore Hall, Central School of Speech and Drama, Trinity College of Music, and Juilliard, and in India, Russia and Scandinavia.

I’ve worked with under-5’s, over-65’s, the corporate sector, the homeless, MA students, undergraduates, children with special needs, fellow artists from the same disciplines, fellow artists from different disciplines, children of all ages and teachers.

We connect, and re-connect, with each other and first principles. We write songs and stories. We make and perform music, theatre and opera.

It’s playful. It’s powerful.

As a performer and workshop leader, I believe in revealing music. I believe we all deserve something of the best, the choicest part.

I’ve also given masterclasses (UK, Russia
& Scandinavia), hosted artist forums and devised, scripted and performed highly original, interactive and successful family performances (LPO, South Bank Centre, Barbican, Wigmore Hall).
